Nikki Sixx Interview

Rock Music News

As fans gear up for the release of one of the most anticipated films in rock history, Nikki Sixx spoke about The Dirt in a new interview about what to expect in the new biopic of Mötley Crüe.

“Netflix didn’t want us to take anything out of the book, they wanted the movie version of the book. They wanted us to leave everything in there because it shows where we came from individually”

Sixx goes onto say the film shows “How we lived our life and the pitfalls to that and how we survived that”. “What I’m hoping people take away from The Dirt is a better understand of the band, a better understanding of the era, where we came from, we were children of the 70s so the bands we were emulating and looked up to were pretty wild”

We’ve had to deal with the downfall of the lifestyle, car accidents, drug overdoses but the music was always the most important thing….we wanted to make a real movie about how we survived ourselves - Sixx

It’s well documented in the media, and of course the book, that Mötley Crüe were a dangerous band and at times resulted in death.

Watch the full interview below. The Dirt airs on Netflix 22nd March 2019.
