The 12th annual indie music retailer celebration, staged on April 13, helped yield 827,000 vinyl albums sold in the U.S. in the week ending April 18, according to Nielsen Music — a record for Record Store Day week, and the third-largest sales week for vinyl albums since Nielsen Music started tracking sales in 1991.

Record store day has gone from strength to strength since its first day on April 19, 2008 and this year has been historic with close to a million being sold. On top of this, over 600K additional vinyls were sold by record shops across the country.

One band that released an exclusive record store day vinyl have been receiving a great deal of flack from “music fans” ever since they started to enjoy success. Greta Van fleet, who are quite frankly one of the most interesting rock bands around at the moment, have enjoyed another notch on the metaphorical bed post. Their debut record, ‘From The FIres’ was the 4th biggest selling vinyl on record store day, and they deserve it.

Billboard posted the full official chart of top selling vinyls which include Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Green Day, Pink Floyd, and more.
