When The Darkness were given permission to land back in July 2003, the UK were given a one-way ticket to solid gold rock and roll. BBC Radio One’s wondrous John Peel was amongst the first to embrace the spandex wearing barbarians when he spun ‘Get Your Hands Off My Woman’ taken from the band's debut album that landed them a number one UK chart position.

Since then, The Darkness have continued to spread their riff raging rock and roll goodness across the nation, and the world. Never ones to be stuck in a rut, The Darkness have consistently delivered interestingly innovative modern British rock music throughout their career. Ed Graham, Dan Hawkins, Justin Hawkins, and Frankie Poullain quickly became household names and love them or hate them, The Darkness know how to put on a show and hold their own.

Whilst it must have seemed like a good idea at the time, frontman Justin Hawkins has swapped his skin-tight spandex for a more traditional English country garden look in a new modern medieval promotional video for their brand new upcoming album, ‘Easter Is Cancelled’. No doubt, all the pretty girls will be trying to rush Hawkins down in a stampede of love.

You may think that love is only a feeling, but when it comes to The Darkness, you can easily see how any Friday night can quickly turn into a love on the rocks with no ice kind of night.

The new promotional video sees the band strutting their stuff through woodlands whilst Justin Hawkins recounts a tale of social injustice that can only be defeated by the four holy powers of rock and roll.

We are ready to fight with every weapon the forefathers have bequeathed
- Justin Hawkins

The first watch was quite bemusing, however, it’s really growing on me.
