When did Rammstein form and start?

Rammstein formed in 1994 in Germany and are known as a Neue Deutsche Härte band. Rammstein released their first (debut) album Herzeleid in 1995.

What does the word Rammstein mean in English?

To understand what the word Rammstein means, we need to first understand where the word came from. In East Berlin, Germany in 1983, Paul H Landers and Christian "Flake" Lorenz were in a punk rock band together before Rammstein even existed. The band, Feeling B, were one of the most influential punk rock bands of the GDR (German Democratic Republic). During this time, the Berlin wall was still erected which represented a physical and mental divide in ideology throughout Germany.

During the mid 90’s, Rammstein were formed shortly after the Berlin wall was destroyed. There was still a metal resonance of the divide the wall created in what is now known as modern day Germany. The word Rammstein was taken from the German word, ‘Rammsteine’ which translated into English is giant door stop-type devices found on old gates. Rammstein means ‘Ramming Stone’. Rammstein chose this name to represent the fall of the Berlin wall and to mark a new era in society, and their musical careers.

Are Rammstein Banned in Germany?

The band Rammstein are NOT banned in Germany, however, some of Rammstein's artwork is banned from Germany.

Rammstein released "Liebe ist Für Alle Da" ("Love is For All") is 2009, and as you would expect, the album was displayed in stores across the entire country of Germany. In a strange turn of events in November of 2009, Liebe ist Für Alle Da was banned from being displayed in any store throughout Germany on account of its depictions of sadism/masochism, which have been deemed to be harmful to children and young people.

The album, released Oct. 10, topped Billboard's European albums survey on Oct. 29 and has become a big seller globally. In Germany, it hit No. 1 on sales of over 200,000 units, going platinum in the process. In the United States, it entered the Billboard charts at No. 13 and it made No. 16 in the U.K. on Oct. 25.

Are Rammstein allowed to tour in Germany?

Yes. Rammstein are not banned from Germany. Rammstein album artwork for Liebe ist Für Alle Da is banned from being displayed in German Stores.

Are Rammstein Banned in United States USA?

Rammstein are not banned from The United States.

How much is Rammstein worth?

There are no official figures that reveal how much Rammstein are worth. Till Lindemann from Rammstein is estimated to be worth $8 million. If the band share equal rights in the music then you could estimate that Rammstein are worth at least $48 Million Dollars. However, the band only receive a portion of the profits so total revenue generated by Rammstein could mean Rammstein are easily worth more than $200 Million Dollars.

Who are Rammstein Members?

The members of Rammstein are Till Lindemann (Vocals), Richard Z Kruspe (Guitar), Paul H Landers (Guitar), Oliver "Ollie" Riedel (Bass), Christian "Flake" Lorenz (Synth) and Christoph "Doom" Schneider (Drums).
