Nashville Pussy Pleased To Eat You
Nashville Pussy Album Review
SINCE 1996, Atlanta born rock and roll band Nashville Pussy have been spreading their 70’s style amphetamine fuelled riot riffs all over the globe. The band have remained largely underground since their inception but have gained a significant cult following over the years throughout the UK, USA, Japan, and across Europe. There’s been a lot of talk recently about rock and roll being dead and going out of style, well, it was never in style and it’s always been underground and it’s never been more vibrant. Sure, we had mainstream rock and metal with Iron Maiden, Metallica etc but it was never really true Rock and Roll. Nashville Pussy are the kind of Rock and Roll you find in a dive bar soaked in vomit and dripping with sweat. This is where real rock and roll belongs and it’s exactly what the new Nashville Pussy record sounds like.
‘Pleased To Eat You’ is how rock and roll should sound, it’s how it should be played, and it’s the type of music you should pick up a one night stand to and smash a few bottles in a bar. It’s a great combination of classic rock, punk, and filth, sleazy sounding guitar licks, rustic recordings, overdriven amps, and husky vocals. ‘Pleased To Eat You’ is the band's 7th studio album and is probably the rawest sounding record they’ve put out to date. Whilst their previous records have also had a very unprocessed quality to them, Pleased To Eat You just comes across as the most cohesive in terms of the band's songwriting and overall sound.
Nashville Pussy are one of the original authentic rock and roll bands that couldn’t give two shits about what you think of them, all they want to do is play hard, play fast, and party harder. They’re one of the rare bands that can capture their energy and passion from playing live onto an LP.
