Jared Leto has started a CULT on an island and his followers call him ‘Prophet’

**Jared Leto Cult Update #1 (08:43AM 24.08.19)**

Actor, musician, and now apparently Jesus 2.0, Jared Leto has often been a questionable figure, mainly when he started to dress, talk, and walk like Jesus. (We’re guessing how Jesus might have walked). His band, 30 Seconds To Mars has always had a very dedicated following. If you watch any of their videos or live footage you can quite clearly see people in the crowd losing their minds and worshiping the ground he stage dives on. 30STM fans are also known as The Echelon, a hoard of - mostly young females - that endeavor to follow him everywhere he goes with the hope of an audience with him and his shiny Jesus beard.

However, things seem to have taken a very unsettling turn as Jared Leto has now started an actual cult where he invites his fans to join him on an isolated island where he proceeds to walk around like some sort of modern-day Jim Jones preaching to his choir. If you don’t know who Jim Jones was, he founded a cult in northwestern Guyana under The Peoples Temple. The cult town was supposed to be a religious safe haven for Christian worshipers, however, claims of abuse, kidnapping, and of course the mass suicide of its 900 residents threw that all into questions. Not to mention Jim Jones shot himself. 

So, in regards to Jared Leto’s island, is it a cult? Yes, he said so himself. “Yes, this is a cult, #MarsIsland” via the bands Twitter page, not to mention all of the people that frequent the island actually call it a cult as well. Mars Island is the name of the island Jared invites his trusting followers to join him for several days at a time, for a price of course. 

The official description of Mars Island is as follows “Mars Island is a three night, all inclusive festival experience. Relax and restore with yoga amongst the trees, take a dip in the pool, catch a midnight screening or gaze at the stars, and catch two intimate performances with Thirty Seconds To Mars. Mars Island is an experience like no other.”

Now, this might all seem very innocent and a genuine retreat where fans get to hang out with Jesus...sorry, Jared Leto. However, it’s not the island itself that’s the concerning aspect, it’s Jared Leto. Most cult leaders don’t actually wake up one day and think “You know what, I’m going to start a cult and people can come and go as they please”. Cult leaders are generally psychotic and start to believe that they are indeed from a higher power, some sort of messenger from God sent to Earth to carry out special teachings to “heal” people. And, this is exactly what seems to be going on here. 
Cult leaders start to feel very powerful as their followers hang onto their every word and praise the ground they walk on. Also, just look at the pictures of Jared Leto, he is very much taking on the role of an open armed Messiah. Dressed all in white with his biblical hair swooning his audience and being the centre of attention. Plus, everyone is dressed in white, it literally looks like a cult. AND THEY CALL HIM A PROPHET.

Let’s not forget the cost of this “Experience”. Starting at a reasonable $995 (not including flights or travel to the island) and rising to a staggering $6,499 with this higher tier including a Mars Passport and Exclusive VIP experience with Jared. You can’t help but feel like the Mars Passport is actually sold to you under the impression it’s a passport to Mars and one day you’ll be going there, just drink this magic potion and hey presto, you’re dead. 

You can also get a tattoo of a smiley face or the cult symbol which is a triangle with a line through it. 

Jared Leto Cult Update #1

Since the publication of this article, many of Jared's devoted followers have flocked to defend him. They have put forward what they believe to be solid arguments that outline why this is NOT a cult.

1) Constantly repeating the phrase "It's not a cult"
2) Trying to insult me
3) No one has died
4) It is actually called a cult because Jared trademarked the phrase "Yes, it's a cult", which was supposed to be a joke

One person even called me French, the cheek! As incredibly well thought out as these arguments may be, the last one is the icing on the cake. Not only has Jared Leto managed to form a cult, he's convinced everyone it's not a cult. Sounds like a cult. The main argument though is that it's all a big joke.

Here's a short list of other things that started as a joke:

1) The Earth revolves around the sun
2) The Earth is flat
3) Raiding Area 51
4) Global Warming
5) Donald Trump
5) An actual Cult

Yes, an actual Cult called Athene, by Bachir Boumaaza. He started as a YouTuber and then literally formed a cult. When fans questioned what he was doing, he made a comical video pretending to be a cult leader. Guess what happened? Many people thought he was serious and moved to his compound in Germany where he literally ran a cult.

he responded to the claim of a Cult leader with "We are a loosely defined group of people who work to make as much of a positive difference in the world as we can". Funny, that sounds very similar to what Jared's followers have been saying. Read the full story here about Bachir Boumaaza.
