Since their inception in 2000, DEATHSTARS have built a cult following across the globe, received critical acclaim, and even toured with iconic Neue Deutsche Härte innovators, RAMMSTEIN on the 2011 ‘MADE IN GERMANY’ tour.

In 2015, Deathstars announced they were to take a break to pursue other projects. After long time drummer Oscar 'Vice' Leander decided to leave the band in 2017, rumours began to spread of a possible reunion with former guitarist Cat Casino (Eric Bäckman - Deathtars 2006–2013).

DEATHSTARS are currently in the studio recording their 5th studio album which is scheduled to be released in early 2020

Until recently, Cat had been working with Turbonegro legend, Hank Von Hell, who released his first solo record in 2018, Egomania. Just a few weeks ago, Cat announced he had decided to leave Hank Von Hell to follow other creative pathways and Deathstars officially announced their reunion shortly after.

Even though I’ve been active writing and playing for other artists this feels like coming home. And to be totally honest I’ve missed every part of being a piece of it. The love, fights, darkness, insane hours, parties and everything else that we all hate to love

Deathstars have now confirmed they are currently working on their 5th Studio record, following their last release, The Perfect Cult, in 2014.

Deathstars recently played their first show in 4 years at GRASSPOP Metal Meeting (BE). You can catch them with the new line-up at the following festivals:

Masters of Rock (CZ)
Castle Party (PL)
Gefle Metal Festival (SE)
Wacken Open Air (DE)
M’era Luna (DE)
