As IDLES continue touring the incredible success of their amazing second record ‘Joy as an Act of Resistance’, Joe Talbot and Mark Bowen took some time out of their busy schedule to talk to Sex Pistols guitarist, Steve Jones, on his KLOS show Jonesy's Jukebox.

The trio share their love for food, discuss Morrissey and also share stories of addiction. Whilst it’s all fun and games to fantasize about the rock and roll lifestyle that comes with being in a successful band, it’s important to remember that more than 15 million people struggle with an alcohol use disorder in the US alone. With the UK estimated to have over 500K people dependant on alcohol.

You party and you wanna celebrate every night and have this cycle of having a good time but it don’t last, uppers and downers in the end.
- Joe Talbot

“I’m not a good drinker, I don’t know when to stop” “My mum was an alcoholic, she drank herself to death really, she ended up having kidney failure and she had a stroke before then and was a heavy smoker but she drank like a fish, bottle of rum a day. I didn’t know, it was only until I became her stepdad told me how much she drank...she hid it”

“She’s was a pint-sized woman I don’t know how she put it away but she did...I don’t wanna’s my responsibility but the addictive personality is definitely in my genes.”

“Our guitarist Lee, 7 and a half years sober, we’re both alcoholics, just in different ways, it’s interesting we help each other out, especially on tour. I’m nowhere near as successful in sobriety as he is but he’s been amazing for me as an inspiration.”
