Liam Gallagher says he’s ready to reform Oasis with brother Noel

The brotherly feud between Oasis icons Noel and Liam Gallagher that seemingly ripped the band apart in 2009 had been casting a shadow on the Mancunian legends long before the release of their final album, Dig Out Your Soul, released in 2008 on Big Brother Recordings LTD. A label that was originally set up by Oasis themselves in 2000 for the sole purpose of releasing their own material.


Still to this day, the pair disagree on why Oasis split up in the first place. “I don’t know why we split up,” Liam says, speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show recently. “I’d like to know so...maybe I might have been a bit too Rock n’ Roll and I might have cancelled a few gigs and might have stayed up later than I should have some nights but we’re not S-Fucking-Club 7”.

Whilst Noel remains centred around a seminal point in the band's career back in 2009 when Liam decided to cancel a festival appearance. “he didn’t turn up to the V Festival gig, because he had a hangover. He claimed he had laryngitis” Noel said speaking to HuffPost some time ago. This also sparked Noel into launching a lawsuit against his brother Liam, which he later dropped and apologised for.

Whilst talking to Jonathan Ross, Liam confirms that he’s invited Noel to his wedding due to take place next year and that he feels he’s matured and is ready to move on and bury the hatchet. “Yeah I’m gonna invite him, he’s me brother man and we’ll see, all he can do is turned it down”. Liam continues on his relationship with Noel, “It’s just going through a bit of a weird patch at the moment ya know, he says shit, I say shit and it all gets a bit out of hand and that but we just need to grow up I guess”

With the pair having constant spats since their break-up in 2009, both have focused on their solo careers with Noel releasing 3 records with his band Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds, and Liam releasing his second solo record, ‘Why me? Why not.’ in September of this year.

Not only does Liam explain that some of the lyrical content is aimed towards Noel about getting the band back together, but he also outright says he wants to reform Oasis. “I don’t know what it is with him [Noel] at the moment,” Liam says. “I don’t think we should have split up, we’d had worse arguments about lesser things. I think the world needs a good band like us [Oasis]”. Liam also jokes about one of his lyrics saying “What’s the lyrics? Get the band back together ya wanker”.

Liam publically announced he wanted to reunite with brother Noel last year “I forgive you now let's get the BIG O back together and stop fucking about the drinks are on me LG x”.

You’d think that being enthralled in a bitter 10-year feud would be enough to seal any bands fate for good. However, Guns N Roses recently settled their differences after Slash and Axl Rose parted ways for almost 20 years by reforming in 2016 for the ‘Not In This Lifetime Tour’, which is still going strong.

Noel recently appeared on popular YouTube series, Hot Ones, but made no mention of any possible Oasis reunion. The only thing Noel did confirm is that Pineapple does not belong on pizza. “It’s not right”.

It appears that ten years later, Liam Gallagher is ready to crack open a bottle of Champagne Supernova. We just have to wait and see if Noel Gallagher is gonna Roll With It.
