This weekend sees an open Beta of the new Call Of Duty Modern Warfare game scheduled to be released on October 25, 2019. First released in 2007, Infinity Ward’s Call Of Duty Modern Warfare is one of the most beloved titles in the first-person shooter series. So, naturally, it made sense to follow other titles such as Final Fantasy 7 and Resident Evil 2 in producing a modern remastered version.

Taking full advantage of the power of modern gaming consoles such as Xbox One, PS4, and the unrivaled PC, this classic title has been given a nice new look, and it’s impressive, so far.
We took to our screens to give the beta a try to see what access was available, test out the gameplay, see how fast we could rank up, and see how many people we could shoot in the head!

Whilst the beta offers no access to campaign mode, COD has become popular for its online gaming modes so as expected, this is what we get to enjoy. The beta offers classic game modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Headquarters, with some unfamiliar modes to us including Cyber Attack & DOM 20 Player. Also on offer is Ground War which sees Call Of Duty take on large scale conflict, similar to Battlefield. You’ll get to climb higher, go further, and control vehicles, so if you like sniping on top of a tower, you’re in luck!

A Night Vision mode sees a very challenging version of Call Of Duty. We took on Night Vision team deathmatch and quickly realized you need an entirely different set of FPS skills to win here. Players are far more cautious and tactical during NVG mode so be very careful.

The gameplay is fast and intense during some maps, and more tactical throughout others, but you can expect to enjoy the classic style of fast pace bullets to the face the Call Of Duty franchise has become well known for.

As always, you get to create 5 custom load-outs after reaching level 4 - which will take you about 30-40 minutes powering through Team Deathmatch, and you’ll get to select killstreaks, gun attachments and even choose your character.

Killstreaks in Call Of Duty Modern Warfare are as follows: Escort Drone, Counter UAV, UAV, Care Package, Cluster Strike, Cruise Missile, Precision Airstrike, Wheelson, Infantry Assault vehicle, Emergency Airdrop, VTOL JET, Chopper Gunner, White Phosphorus, Support Helo, Gunship, Advanced UAV, and Juggernaut. There are also rumors that MOAB is back in the game.

The first few games you can expect to get destroyed as you’re stuck with the standard class loadout leaving you pretty much in the dark compared to other players who have already maxed out their M4A1 assault rifle class. You can expect to see some of your favorite weapons such as the M4A1, AK-47, FR 5.56, MP5, MP7, AUG, P90, Model 680 shotgun, LMGS, and your trusty Dragunov Sniper rifle!

Don’t expect to see too many campers in the new Call Of Duty. From what we can the maps make it very difficult for people to camp and have a wide range of view on enemies so camping in the new COD is going to be pretty pointless, but no doubt you’ll still see plenty of them.

The menu system is super easy to use once you get used to the layout, and expect to see all the usual display in-game, as well as match summaries and K/D Ratio.
The gameplay is pretty smooth and the maps are intricate, giving you plenty of places to hide and plan out tactical offense and defense. As with all of the Call Of Duty games, you’ll get used to the map pretty quickly and be blowing off heads in no time.

Ground War is pretty epic! Tons of awesome sniper points and areas of the map your team can hold down and fend off the enemy. Infinity Ward has done a great job of offering diverse maps that make it difficult to contain the battle to one area so you’ll always be facing a new threat around every turn!
