Former members of Swedish metal acts Crucified Barbara and current Bass Player, Skinny, from Deathstars have teamed up to form a new group, ‘The Heard’. Today they released their latest single, ‘Tower Of Silence’.

Crucified Barbara separated in 2016 after almost 20 years as one of the most well known all-female metal groups and released some amazing albums. Whilst it was sad to hear of their separation, it’s great to have guitarist Klara, bassist Ida, and powerhouse Nicki on the drums in this new line up, they also have Skinny from Deathstars on lead guitar and new vocalist Pepper Potemkin.

The Heard was formed when Klara, Ida and Nicki wanted to keep playing music after their previous band Crucified Barbara called it quits in 2016.

The Heard’s new single ‘Tower Of Silence’ is mysterious and dark with haunting vocals and driving riffs. It conjures up images of lost souls wandering through burning fields in a haze of despair. It’s definitely a unique track that stands out against most modern “rock” bands and it’s a great taster of what we hope is to come.

So far, The Heard have only released two other singles, ‘White Lightning’ and ‘Sirens’ so we’re expecting a full album to follow at some point but we have no details as of yet.

The new single ’Towers Of Silence’ premiered 07th September 2018 and has been released on Despotz Records.
