First off, stop complaining that the Greta Van Fleet are “ripping off” Led Zeppelin. The band have made it no secret that they’ve based their entire sound and image on the legendary rockers, in fact, they’ve openly said time and time again in many interviews about their love for the band. It’s ironic that the very same people complaining about a modern band ripping off their favourite 70’s rock and roll band are all wearing Airbourne t-shirts.

Would you rather have a young energetic new rock and roll band that sound like Led Zeppelin, or would you rather have another rapper with shit face tattoos singing about slapping cocks and knockin bitches with all the bling bling? Yeah, exactly.

Greta Van Fleet released the next instalment from their new album, ‘Anthem of a Peaceful Army’ and it’s a beautifully well put together track. ‘Lover, Leaver’ is a raw hard rock classic with some seriously slick lead riffs.

Their first single from the debut album was a bit too pop and had people wondering just how rock and roll their first full length record would turn out to be. This latest offering definitely puts the Michigan brothers back on course to hard rock heaven.

Who are Greta Van Fleet?

Greta Van Fleet is an American rock band from Frankenmuth, Michigan, formed in 2012. It consists of vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist Sam Kiszka, and drummer Danny Wagner. They were signed to Lava Records in March 2017 and a month later the band released their debut studio EP, Black Smoke Rising. Their debut single, "Highway Tune", topped the Billboard US Mainstream Rock and Active Rock charts in September 2017 for four weeks in a row.

A second EP From the Fires, containing the four songs from Black Smoke Rising and four new songs, was released on November 10, 2017, alongside a second single, "Safari Song". Their debut full length studio album, Anthem of the Peaceful Army, is scheduled for release on October 19, 2018, with the first single, "When the Curtain Falls", being released ahead of it in July 2018. The band's heavy rock sound is said to be heavily influenced by the work of Led Zeppelin although they are mostly influenced by traditional artists from blues, soul, funk and folk music, along with many other rock acts. Lead vocalist, Josh Kiszka, has a voice that has been compared to Robert Plant's "husky howl."
